Project of the Day: The Cody Shrine

Project of the Day: The Cody Shrine

I’m a little behind in my posts, I know, but I have been busy converting my blogs and website into one sleek new package thus making it easier for fans to find me. You know, everything in one location…

So since I’m a little behind in posting, I thought I’d show you the Cody Shrine from my youngest graduation party…at the end of May. We did a lot of prep work for this party, a lot like saCody Shrine beforey: remodeling the house, you know adding hardwoods, installing new stair treads, refinishing said stairs and flooring, and that was just on the inside.

For the outside we built a new bar, a new trex deck, and tons of other little things that added up to a lot of time spent on making Cody’s grad party one that wouldn’t soon be forgotten…because that’s how I roll.

So I started out with a door that had been hanging around–literally, it was hanging up in the shed and hadn’t seen the light of day for a number of years. I’d known when I received this door from a friend of mine that one day I’d find a purpose for it…and I finally did. Yeah me!

The next step was to add some color and character to it, which I just happen to be skilled at.

I added more paint, and then used a crackling finish, which is kinda hard to see here, and then slapped on some chalkboard paint and added the lettering. Oh, let me also mention that the hubby took pity on me and built a stand for the shrine so it wouldn’t fall over. That was nice of him, right?cody shrine during

After I was done with this part, I wrangled my niece into placing old photo’s of Cody onto it randomly. She did a great job too! So here’s the final product, one Cody Shrine coming up!
