Day Fence Project – Reader Feature

Day Fence Project – Reader Feature

I’m loving the fact that I can share other’s projects here on my site because it brings in more creativity and allows you to see other’s works as well. Today’s Reader Feature is from Anita Day, and I think you’re gonna adore it just like it did. She had a water stained fence on her property that needed “something” to help it out, and I think she accomplished it well! Take a peek at this week’s Reader Feature.

Anita had a water stained fence that just wasn’t appealing anymore.

So she had an idea of creating a mural with a pallet on that section of fencing to help hide the eye sore.

She and her hubby picked up some old pallets and set out on the project.

Her first step was to clean the pallets to she had a good surface to start working on. She hosed them down and let them dry in the sun.

She then moved them to a shaded area to create her pieces of art.

And of course, this doesn’t need an explanation, cuz who can work on an empty stomach? Not me!

She gathered her supplies with included craft paints and sponge applicators.

Anita chose her colors and went to town!

Using paint markers instead of painstakingly using a brush was a better option.

You see the play on names here? Lol, Anita used her last name as a play on words, and it works perfectly!

Sponges and scissors make the next steps easier for those of us that are drawing challenged… *hangs head in shame. I can’t even draw a stick person well.*

Dab a little paint on the sponge and apply. It’s that easy even I could do it!

After creating her pieces of art, she signed it.

And a little clear coat can help protect it from the elements.

Some help from the hubby and Marine, and it’s looking pretty smart!

And also some help from this little sugar burgar, her grandson, as she lovingly refers to them.

It was time to stand back and admire her handiwork!

DAY Fence Project024

I’m liking it with its bright and colorful display of flowers, it pulls your attention away from the water stained fence, and instead focuses on the art.
